City Centre Bingo Fundraisers
Bingo fundraisers are essential in helping fund the day-to-day operations of the Kachur Wealth Community Arena. Funds raised through these events allow us to provide affordable ice time for both the Clavet Minor Hockey Association and the Clavet Skating Club. In addition, these funds support vital facility upgrades such as lighting, heating, safety glass, and the maintenance of our Zamboni and ice plant — all of which help keep our rink safe, efficient, and accessible for everyone in the community.
Over the past five years, bingo fundraisers have generated an average of $71,000 annually for the arena. These funds are a critical part of our yearly budget, and we rely on volunteers to fill each assigned bingo in order to maintain this important source of income.
Working Bingos is one of the most impactful ways our families can support the arena. Each bingo shift worked directly contributes to keeping user fees low while ensuring our rink continues to grow and thrive year after year.
How It Works
Clavet Minor Hockey Families
- Each player is required to work a minimum of two 5-hour bingo shifts per season.
- The $300 bingo fee included with registration is refunded once shifts are completed.
- Extra shifts can be carried over to future seasons or paid out at $60 per bingo.
Clavet Skating Club Families
- If a skater is on the ice once per week, the bingo fee is $150.00.
- If a skater is on the ice more than once per week, the bingo fee is $300.00.
- Bingo fees are refunded once required shifts are completed.
To qualify for a full reimbursement, all required shifts must be completed by May 31 of the current season. Bingos worked between April and September will count toward the following season.
Please note: Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older to work at bingo, and 16 or older to work Balls.
Bingo Positions
Runner: As a runner you will go around selling bingo papers on the floor.
Balls: This is a good place to start if you have never worked a bingo before. Balls is a game that is played at the same time as bingo. You sell balls cards on the floor to bingo goers.
Radio: As a person that works with the radio you get called only when a bingo gets called, you will be reading the bingo card out. This is a great job for kids who are working as they don’t have to deal with cash.
